Cristina's "You Are The Best!" Diet


     Cristina's Miracle Diet was actually developed by her doctor many years ago and is still being used successfully at that clinic. You will save lots of money because there are no miracle products to buy, just good healthy basic foods you choose yourself. Where you save the most money is on your shopping list: no simple carbs like sugar, corn, pasta, bread, chips,etc. (They all work to keep your insulin levels too high which converts your blood sugar into body fat.)
The purpose of this diet beside losing weight is you learning to eat properly and balanced. At the end of the diet, when you reach your goal size, we will start by integrating to your meals the food you like to eat, but in the process you would have learned how to eat it.

      1. You will start feeling better in the first few days and probably thinking a lot about those things you are used to eating and drinking daily but the nice thing is that when you get hungry you just eat til your not! Truly! the more you eat, the more you lose.  It helps to have a tape measure to keep track of the changes.
      2. The 5 simple elements that make this diet so effective:
  • What you don't eat: simple carbs like fruits, certain vegetables, non-lean meat, processed foods, food additives (especially high salt, high sugar), this makes some things like chinese food and bread especially off your list.
  • When you eat: The daily meals you will eat are all simple to prepare and delicious. You eat as much as you want. But in order for it to work they have to be spaced properly.  This can be hard to do at first but when you start seeing the results it soon becomes very natural.
  • When you eat your main meal: This is different for each person but very important. In the first 2 weeks you will figure this out for yourself. You probably already know from experience.
  • The miracle food that dominates the first few weeks depending on how much weight you have to loose.
  • You never go hungry and you start drinking a lot more and enjoying it! (You find your own miracle snacks. For Cristina it was pork rinds (chicharrones), mozarrela cheese, Oscar Meyer weiners, or ham. The miracle drink is agua!  Note these are all items it is easy to have handy wherever you are and whatever you are doing.
    3. There are no miracle products to buy: Your two biggest expenses in plan are the fresh vegetables and the water you prefer. You save way more than this by eliminating corn products, sugar, bread and expensive processed foods. We like our vegetables both steamed and fresh so we got a great little steamer for $20. Cristina likes Brita filtered water and I like Jamaica flower tea. (Hybiscus)

    4. The role of sleep.   All the elements of this simple diet affect your body in many ways. The main effect on your body is to reduce insulin levels (a hormone) and to reduce stress hormone levels (cortisol, adrenaline). The most important thing anyone can do to allow these changes to take place is to get the right amount of sleep on a regular schedule. Once again, you know your own needs better than anyone. For example: This morning Cristina woke up after 6 1/2 hours of sleep and felt great. She is now in week 12. 3 weeks ago, if she did the same thing it would have been completely different. She would have been sleepy for the first couple of hours.

    5. The results:   The biggest weight loss occurs in the first 3-4 weeks. Cristina lost 12 pounds during that phase. A lot of that is water loss because you haven't gotten used to drinking enough yet but what you like is WHERE the weight is coming off. (hips, belly), and the added energy you have. Cristina gained back 4 lbs before she started loosing again and after 12 weeks she is down 20 lbs. Thru the whole 12 weeks she has been losing fat and feeling better with more energy. Now she has entered a new phase. (different foods) But those steep stairs are a lot easier to run up with out that extra 20 lbs!
